By layering lighting in a space you have the ability to control the mood of the room and ensure there is enough lighting to utilize the space at all times of the day. Task Lighting
Task lighting is a smaller concentrated light used when working such as in an office, reading, completing tasks in the kitchen, etc. You want your task lighting to contrast the other lighting in the room for it to be most effective.
